The Beginnings of Garda Equipment

The idea for the GARDA Equipment brand was born in late 2020. During a casual conversation about motorcycles, a colleague of mine revealed to me that he could not find a matching engine cover for his BMW GS motorcycle. A thought began to germinate in my mind that since my colleague could not find a matching cover, there is still a niche in the market related to motorcycle accessories. At this point, I made the decision to think about producing and selling my own products.

Building the Garda Team

My name is Kornel Eberhardt, and I am a designer. During my career, I have worked for both well-known motorcycle and automotive brands. I was involved in designing tuning parts for the body, so I decided to pick up the gauntlet and design his dream cowl. After a short time, I was joined by an experienced designer who had been involved in welding rack design for years and was well versed in metalworking. Having such a man in my lineup, I already knew that we had everything to start producing our own crash bars and covers. And that’s how it started.

The Principles Behind Garda

Designing the First Parts

We began designing the first parts in early 2021. That same year saw the creation of the first prototypes of motorcycle accessories, such as crash bars and skid plates. We have made it our goal to create high-quality accessories at a competitive price. The beginnings were not easy; we faced many challenges in optimizing the design and materials used. At no time in our business did we want to compromise the quality of the items we create to lower the purchase price. What sets us apart is the thoughtful design and high quality of our products.

Introducing the First Product

The first motorcycle for which we produced crash bars and a skid plate was the Honda Africa Twin 1100 Adventure Sport. From the first measurements, sketches, technical drawings, to the final product, 4 prototypes were created. We were constantly improving something, and it took us more than 3 months. The result is crash bars and skid plates, which you can buy today on our website. I believe that no product on the market today can boast such a high level of motorcycle protection and build quality as GARDA Equipment’s crash bars.

The Genesis of the Garda Name

Garda is nothing more than a derivation from the boxing guard. We really liked this reference because the motorcycle accessories we create, mainly crash bars and skid plates, are made with the protection of the motorcycle in mind. Just as a boxer protects his body from blows with a guard, Garda Equipment protects your motorcycle. Importantly, Garda was founded from the very beginning on the premise that it should be a strong Polish brand. We are keen to emphasize that such a high-quality product is made in Poland. At the same time, we do not close ourselves to the market; we want motorcycles all over Europe and even the world to ride with our accessories.
