Skid Plate for BMW F 900 GS

The skid plate can only be installed if you have PRO and LOW crash bars.

The BMW F 900 GS Skid Plate by GARDA Equipment was designed for riders who take advantage of their motorcycle’s off-road potential and need reliable protection for its lower components. It protects against rocks, uneven terrain and obstacles encountered on demanding adventure routes.

Manufactured from 3 mm aluminum, the skid plate combines durability with a carefully engineered protection system. The complete construction weighs 5 kg and was designed as an integral part of the GARDA Equipment modular protection setup.

Installation of the skid plate requires GARDA Equipment PRO Crash Bars. We also recommend using the LOW Crash Bars, as the central mounting point of the skid plate is located directly on the LOW structure. This creates an integrated protection system in which individual components work together rather than functioning as separate accessories.

One of the key design priorities was eliminating direct mounting to the power unit. The mounting points are located on the motorcycle frame and protection system – the skid plate is not mounted directly to the engine. This allows impact forces to be distributed through the protection structure instead of being transferred directly to the engine.

All necessary bolts, spacers and installation instructions are included in the kit.
