BMW F 900 GS Protection & Equipment System - GARDA Equipment Configurator

The GARDA Equipment accessory system for the BMW F 900 GS was designed around a modular concept, allowing you to choose the level of protection and equipment that best suits your riding style. From a lightweight configuration for experienced riders focused on minimizing additional weight to a comprehensive setup prepared for demanding adventure travel.

The foundation of the entire system is the BMW F 900 GS PRO Crash Bars. Made from 25x2 mm steel tubing and weighing 3.8 kg, they provide essential motorcycle protection and serve as the starting point for installing additional GARDA components.

If you need greater coverage, the system can be expanded with MAX Crash Bars. Weighing 2.9 kg, they mount directly to the PRO Crash Bars and increase protection for the upper areas of the motorcycle. The PRO + MAX configuration is designed for riders willing to accept slightly more weight in exchange for more comprehensive protection.

The next component is the LOW Crash Bars, weighing only 1.3 kg. They protect the lower areas of the motorcycle and complement the base PRO system. LOW also plays an important role when installing the skid plate – its central mounting point is located on the LOW structure, making it the recommended configuration when adding the GARDA Skid Plate.

The 3 mm aluminum Skid Plate, weighing 5 kg, protects the lower areas of the BMW F 900 GS when riding on gravel roads, rocky trails and demanding off-road routes. PRO Crash Bars are required for installation, while LOW Crash Bars are recommended for the complete mounting configuration.

A key feature of the entire protection system is the mounting concept. The mounting points are located on the motorcycle frame, and the structure is not mounted directly to the engine. This allows impact forces to be properly distributed and reduces unnecessary loads transferred to the power unit.

For riders using the F 900 GS for longer journeys, we also developed a lightweight aluminum Luggage Rack. Manufactured from 20x2 mm tubing and 4 mm aluminum plate, it weighs just 2.1 kg and increases the motorcycle’s luggage-carrying capability without unnecessarily adding weight to the rear.
